Q1：介绍你的家乡。（Please say something about your hometown.）

I come from XXX, a famous city with a long history over 2000 years, it is called XXX, because there were lots of XXX even 900 years ago.The city lies in eastern part of the province. It is the center of politics, economy and culture. Many celebrities were born here for instance XXX and XXX. In addition, it is famous for the hot springs. They are known for high-quality. Visitors at home and abroad feel it comfortable bathing here. This is my beloved hometown.

Q2：你读过最震撼的书是什么？为什么？（What's the most impressive book you ever read and why?）

I think it should be The Dream of the Red Mansions. I remember that I read it for the first time when I was only 15 years old, but I didn't understand it well then and I regard it as a tragic love story; I picked up this book again during my sophomore year. What impressed me most was that it is so excellent because you can view it from different perspectives. I really like it and I have different feelings every time I read it. This masterpiece can withstand the test of time.

Q3：你最突出的优点是什么？（What is your greatest strength?）

I feel that my strongest asset is my ability to stick to things to get them done. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I finish a job and it turns out just as I’d planned. I’ve set some high goals for myself. For example, I want to graduate with highest distinction. And even though I had a slow start in my freshman year, I made up for it by doing an honor’s thesis.

I really love this major and I believe it is highly relevant to today’s society. Translation can serve as a bridge to connect different languages and different cultures. I believe that people in various nations would be connected closer and closer, and translators could play a key / essential role in facilitating the flow of ideas and cultures. However, I know that what I have learned in university is not enough for me to be a qualified interpreter. That’s why I took the postgraduate examination last year.

Q5：为什么选择我们学校？（Why did you choose our school?）

Peking University is one of the best universities in our country. I guess many students in China want to go to Peking University and I am no exception. Also, PKU has tremendous strength in scientific research and a strong battalion of best and experienced teachers, who are qualified in teaching and research work. In a word, I have very good impression about this university and I hope I can become a PKU postgraduate.

Q6：如果这次不录取你，你会怎么应对？（How do you handle rejection?）

Thank you for your question. I think the experience of preparing for postgraduate entrance examination has made me learned a lot contents that are not available in books. I always think that “ there is no way to go in vain in the world, and every step counts.” If I am not admitted and continue to strive for the goal. I know that I still have deficiencies, but I have tried my best to prepare for this exam, I believe that the hard-working people will be rewarded, thank you teacher.

Q7:研究生期间你的计划。（Plans in the postgraduate study.)

First, I hope I can form systematic view of XXX. As for XXX, my express wish is to get a complete comprehension of the formation and development as well as XXX. If possible, I will go on with my study for doctorate degree. In a word, I am looking forward to making a solid foundation for future profession after three years study here.

This epidemic is undoubtedly a grave threat to global health. It is the enemy of all human beings. China has made great achievements in the prevention and control of the Covid-19 Virus, but many other countries are still suffering from the rapid spread of the virus. That being said, I believe that we human beings can eventually win this battle against the pandemic as long as we can stick together and unite as one.
